Each fall, Young Involved Philadelphia (YIP) hosts State of Young Philly (SOYP), a dynamic 10-day event series filled with programming designed to connect young Philadelphians of every background, showcase their positive impact, and amplify their voices. SOYP 2018 brings together nonprofits, government entities, civic leaders, and local businesses to help young Philadelphians identify what civic engagement means to them and the role each individual can play in driving change in their communities.
Join Volunteering Untapped PHL for their Second Annual State of Young Philly volunteer event! We will be partnering with two great orgs and learning about the unique ways they serve the most basic of human needs - food. Afterwards join us at the #afterjawn for discussion and (as always) some food and beers at a local bar. Please note that Manna and Spring Gardens are at different addresses.
MANNA

At this event, volunteers will be prepping pies to be sold during the Thanksgiving Holiday to benefit MANNA as part of the Pie in the Sky campaign.
THE SPRING GARDENS
N 18th St, Philadelphia, PA 19130, from 9-noon
Here volunteers will be helping The Spring Gardens, which helps families grow food and flowers for themselves and for donation through two large City Harvest sections, garden, harvest, and prepare for winter.
