ABOUT ABOUT

Where else can you enjoy the taste of a dozen nations all within a ten-block stroll? Nowhere else but North 5th Street in Philadelphia’s Olney neighborhood! Let the millennial staff of the North 5th Street Revitalization Project guide you through the history, culture and international eats that make Olney Philadelphia’s best kept culinary secret.

You’ll also meet millennial entrepreneurs who’ve invested in Olney because they love the area’s international feel. This tour is also your chance to learn about Philly’s neighborhood economic development sector and all the behind the scenes work that makes commercial corridors thrive.

Food stops will include:

Authentic Korean-Chinese fusion including spicy seafood stew
El Salvadoran street food served up food truck style
Olney’s Bakery Block with tasty pastries from the Colombian Bakery, Philly Bread and Oteri's Italian Bakery…and more!

With savory, sweet and spicy flavors in between, this food tour is not to be missed! Participants will receive a access to an online tour guide that they can share with friends and use for future visits.

We’ll meet promptly at 3pm at the free parking lot at Lowell Elementary School at North 5th St and Grange Ave (GPS: 451 W. Grange Ave). From there we'll bus it down North 5th and stroll our way back up to our starting point (we'll provide SEPTA tokens).

Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring an umbrella just in case it rains, and feel free to bring along a grocery bag just in case you want to take food home.

*Vegetarians are welcome but may find their options limited
