Each fall, Young Involved Philadelphia (YIP) hosts State of Young Philly (SOYP), a dynamic 10-day event series filled with programming designed to connect young Philadelphians of every background, showcase their positive impact, and amplify their voices. SOYP 2018 brings together nonprofits, government entities, civic leaders, and local businesses to help young Philadelphians identify what civic engagement means to them and the role each individual can play in driving change in their communities.
NExT Philadelphia, Temple University's Masters of Public Policy Program and other community partners are coming together for this forum to mobilize our community to exercise their right to vote. This event will include a discussion about some of the policy initiatives of the National Urban League, including the Jobs and Justice Act. Additionally, attendees will learn of local resources to help people know the candidates and information that will make them informed voters. Finally, our panel will explore current obstacles and strategies to increase voter turnout in all elections.
