ABOUT ABOUT

Join the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) and Center City District Foundation (CCDF) for an afternoon focused on reimagining vacant spaces around the proposed Viaduct Rail Park. This event will include a walking tour with stops at key locations to learn more about the history and redevelopment of the area from experts working to transform, green, and better connect the Callowhill neighborhood through Pop Up Gardens, new destinations, greening strategies, art and culture projects, and of course, the Viaduct Rail Park. During the tour, PHS will discuss their Pop Up Garden site selection process and share other strategies for transforming neighborhoods through horticulture. CCDF will offer information about the development process for the Viaduct Rail Park and give the group the final sanctioned tour of the site before it goes under construction. In between you’ll hear from other experts and stakeholders, working to build new destinations and attract residents to the neighborhood.

After the tour, grab a beverage and enjoy complimentary culinary selections from our friends at Prohibition Tap Room. The tour will conclude at Prohibition Tap Room, located at 501 North 13th Street. During the happy hour, make sure you pin your favorite potential PHS Pop Up Garden location on the map and you may be able to visit it in the future.

We hope to see you at the event! Please meet at 10th and Hamilton, in front of the PHS Pop Up Garden.
